First, I have to say how great everyone that I dealt with was. From the young ladies at the desk to the loader operator to the driver of the dump truck that delivered two loads of screened loam to my house. Really, really nice people! However, two problems. The loam was not of great quality, and despite being told that I could plant very directly with no amendments, my planting did very poorly, and I had to replant all of the seeds and add fertilizer to the plants. Most of the plants I had to replace also, then dig holes, add composted cow manure and peat moss, and then mix before replanting. Then they did ok. By far, the biggest problem was the damage done to my lawn. The driver of the dump truck backed up too far and got it stuck. He tried and tried, but it just got stuck deeper and de

Received crap "sifted loam" turned into rocks and sand. Completely destroyed our lawn and we had to pay a landscaper to do over our entire front lawn.

I ordered a full cord of firewood several days ago and it was delivered this morning. The people I spoke to over the phone and the truck driver were really very helpful. I have been buying firewood for over 25 years and I am pretty good at telling whether I am getting a full cord or not. I was pretty sure it was not after I saw the load in my driveway.When I stacked it it measured 8 feet long by 4 feet high by 3 feet deep. A cord is 4 feet wide , 4 feet deep and 8 feet long. I am disappointed by the shortage and the size of the firewood itself. Some of the pieces look longer then the opening in my wood burning stove. Some of the pieces are also really huge and need to be split before I use them. When I buy firewood, I do not expect to deal with any of these issues , so , I guess I am real

This is the “firewood” I received - most of it isn’t dry enough to burn this year and it came with free mulch (dirt, dust, chips, splinters, rocks, etc.). Gross. I’ve never seen such a mess of rotten, chunky, and damp wood sold as “seasoned and ready for use” This looks like it was left in an uncovered pile for two years to get rained on and rot. For nearly $500 per cord, I expected better. The two stars I’m leaving are for the lovely people I spoke with on the phone and in the driveway, great folks working there. The product, on the other hand, left much to be desired.

I’ve used Southshore landscape supply over the years for bulk materials, dense grade, stone dust and loom. They always have what I need and deliver it quickly with no issues or damage. I recently ordered 60yds of loom in March. They had by far the lowest price and my local yard didn’t have any stock till April. Don’t go anywhere else.
