Spectrum Homes and Remodeling

Spectrum Homes was the perfect choice to build our custom retirement home. The process was detailed and professional. As the owners we were involved in each segment of the construction and the help we received with choosing every part of the interior and exterior from appliances to brick color was spot on! We love showing off our new home and we tell everyone who built it.

We had a complex project that included remodeling most of the interior of our house (Master bath & bedroom, 1/2 bath, kitchen, living room, office, dining room, laundry room, stairs, etc). This included moving some load bearing walls and re-routing many utilities. Everything was done to our specifications; the Spectrum design team and their vendors were excellent. Even though some issues (typical items in a project this large) were encountered during the project, they managed them well and delivered on time. I think Craig, Bart, and Vicky all give really sound, practical advice. They helped us reach our goals and make smart selections along the way. I highly recommend using Spectrum Homes. We added an in law suite to our home. It turned out so much better than we expected. You can tell by their work that they have very high standards. The addition was over 900 sq ft with one bedroom, full bathroom, walk in closet with washer and dryer, kitchen, pantry, living room, and office. I also renovated the mudroom in the main house and added custom cubbies and a pantry. We worked with Brandon a lot in the beginning with discussing design. It didn’t take long to design the perfect layout for my parents. Brandon is very easy to talk to and answered all of our questions. We would not recommend Spectrum Homes in Whitehall PA to build a home. Once final payment was made, we felt they lost interest in our project & did not value us as customers, allowing warranty work to remain unfinished for over 1 year. With Spectrum and its subcontractors giving contradictory reasons for faults we feel their capabilities did not measure up to our project’s custom design including questionable levels of craftsmanship, lack of listening to our concerns, not following agreed upon plans, low attention to detail & little empathy. Claiming a Total Quality Assurance Program stating they “care beyond the day you move in” to schedule warranty work within 30 days, have a final review within 11 months, & close our file in 12 months. We had an incredible experience with the entire Spectrum team a few years back when we had them build our family home. We had a custom on lot build with challenging circumstances that had us interview multiple builders and Spectrum was the clear choice.
