I had a great experience with Steel Classic Garage who recently worked on my 65 Mustang. The car was coming off a fresh restoration outside TX and I needed a local shop to do a bit of work dialing in the timing, addressing some leakage in my exhaust system, installing a couple of seals, and ensuring the car ran well when the AC kicked on. I called the shop and had a long conversation with Brennan who suggested I bring it by and we could create a list together. He gave me a ballpark, fair estimate for the work and I agreed I would bring the car back to him when they had an opening in the shop - about a week later. Brennan called when they were ready. Took my 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood in and they got my engine running so nicely! Brendon and Derek were super nice, honest, and timely about everything and the car was finished promptly after all the parts came in. I’m super satisfied. Thanks again guys!

Steel Classic Garage beyond screwed me over. I took my 68 VW Bus in to get fixed due to idling issues. It was worked on and I was sent on my way only for the idle issues to return on my drive back from the garage that same day. That’s when I noticed that the hatch they cut to access the fuel pump was installed incorrectly and they lost the piece of metal they cut that was supposed to be installed as a hatch cover. So now I just have a hole in the back of the bus. Took it back, it sat in their parking lot for over 6 months, where it sustained hail damage. Now, that isn’t their fault, but upon inspecting the damage I found dents in places hail never could have caused - hail doesn’t cause a license plate to bend backwards, but a car backing into it certainly would. I had Steel Classic Garage work on my 1957 Thunderbird, it needed a fair bit of work and these guys did a great job. They replaced the brake master, suspension, new carb and alternator and much more. They recommended replacing some of the wiring that was causing issues and helped me sort out some other issues. If you have a classic car, these guys are professionals and will take care of you.

I can’t say enough about this place! I sent my 1962 Austin Healey there for what I thought was a major coolant leak at the water pump gasket. Four hours later Derek called me to tell me my car was ready! It was just a loose radiator hose that I couldn’t see due to 4” ground clearance. When I asked him what I owed him he said “ I don’t feel right about charging you anything, all we did was reattach the hose and tighten the clamp.” I insisted I pay him something but he still wouldn’t accept anything! It’s very refreshing in today’s world to find an honest and honorable place of business such as this. This kind and unnecessary gesture has insured I am a customer for life. Derek and his crew are a great bunch of folks and I would highly recommend them for any and all classic car needs.
