Stones Of Texas

I had such an excellent experience, using Stones of Texas. They were creative, efficient, and did a great job. My project came out better than expected. The crew was really fast and actually finished faster than anticipated. Overall, everyone in the business was very friendly and knowledgeable. I’m going to be hiring them to do my next project (Landscaping).

Be very suspicious of the 5 star ratings! SOT built a beautiful pool for us--no doubt--but they did it by undercutting another business, using their original design, and had so many errors along the way that I stopped sleeping altogether. The stress was immense, as I had to become savvy to construction and plumbing work in order to double check their work. The core crew and their plumber are PHENOMINAL! These guys have an amazing work ethic and do beautiful work when it comes to paving and plumbing, but we were a great experiment when it came to building the pool. Our pool was the first they'd ever built. They were only subcontractors on prior pools working on the decking only. Our previous paver patio was almost 30 years old and quite dilapidated; so we solicited 2 bids to repair/replace it. Before we selected a company, I saw a "floor model" done by Stones of Texas at Site One Landscaping nearby, and so I asked Stones of Texas for a bid as well. Their bid was competitive with the other two, and since I had seen their work firsthand, we selected them. They were able to begin work within 1-2 weeks of signing the contract, and it was completed very expeditiously, in around 6-7 working days (this included both demolition and new build of a ~600 sq ft paver patio). The job itself was fine. Communication is horrible, they kept my materials from the job (moved it to their yard) and refused to deliver them back. Wanted to charge me more than the materials are worth because I did not want to do further projects with them.

Called about some stone we needed to fix a pool patio. Gave dimensions, quantity, and possible colors. Was told to come on down to take a lot at what they had. We drove down the next day to look. Got there, told her I called the day before about some stone and she was the person I spoke with. We went outside to look at the options they had. After picking out what would work best for us, I was told they had no inventory in stock and that they could order it, and the store in Austin would deliver it for a fee. This was after she told me they had an incomplete pallet, but they couldn't sell me any of that. It was against policy. I said, "Let me get this straight."
