Working with Cody and the Studio Make team on our custom concrete fireplace hearth for our new basement level auxiliary dwelling unit (ADU) was a great experience. We workshopped some ideas, drawing inspiration from the original floating concrete hearth on our second level (in the original 1960s mid century modern portion of our house), shared visions and sketches back and forth with them. Cody in his team fabricated the piece to perfection. The installation was tricky given the location, but they made sure that every possibility for damage or fracture was taken into consideration. They installed the hearth using one-inch steel tubes so that it appears to be floating. The installation was seamless.

Cody and team have made a couple of pieces for us now and we couldn’t be happier with their work. The first piece was a matte black fire surround and bench. They fabricated it in one piece and it is stunning. On the strength of that, we asked them to come back and fabricate a bench to sit just outside our front door. Again we couldn’t be happier with the end result. I have no hesitation in recommending Cody and his team. They are professional, reliable, and produce extremely high quality work.

And just like that…I have the most perfect piece of furniture for this space. I knew the, dare I say *vibe*, I wanted but my brain doesn’t work in that artistic way, and just finding a pre-designed piece was never going to work; Studio Make listened to my rambling of ideas and made it so in this beautiful bench. There was never a moment where I felt unheard, and somehow this thing I didn’t even really know how to articulate was created. The craftsmanship and pure art coming from these guys is unmatched in this industry. And I will forever be grateful for this piece that will last my lifetime and beyond.

Cody & crew are superb craftsman & do excellent custom work. Studio Make worked on a demanding remodel for Kinetic Const. Inc. Project involved reworking of two midcentury fireplaces that required new concrete hearths & custom metal work.
