Sunrise Kitchens Baths Closets

TLDR: DO NOT HIRE. Sunrise Kitchen and Bath left my house gutted for months with little to no work, knew early on there were cabinet issues, and took advantage of the fact that I was active-duty military and not local. I would not hire them again. I’m active-duty military and stationed out of the area, so I rely heavily on contractors being honest and organized. This house is my planned retirement home, and I rent it out only to keep from losing money while I’m away. Sunrise was fully aware of this and how important timing was. My remodel was supposed to start with demolition on July 7, 2025. Demo didn’t actually happen until July 17, and only after my house was torn apart did Sunrise tell me they didn’t have the cabinets they knew I wanted from the beginning. I later learned they were a

Sunrise brought my dreams to life! Our kitchen was transformed from a dark, cramped area where only one person could occupy and work in, to an open light-filled fully functional space that fits several people at once. The scope far exceeded just a kitchen remodel but included changing the footprint, opening a wall, replacing flooring in adjacent rooms and painting walls/trim. Sunrise expertly completed each phase from demo to completion. All in all, 4.5 would be our final rating. Missing the perfect 5 rating due to some evident communication issues between sales/office/field trades (increased when juggling several projects at once) and the under-cabinet lighting plan/installation was an afterthought. We specifically used the Chesapeake location for our initial meeting; however, all locations are owned and operated under the same people and Buisness license. I delayed writing this review because the experience was so upsetting, but I feel a responsibility to be honest for future customers. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Sunrise Kitchens Baths and Closets. It’s important to note that the majority of this company’s positive reviews are from previous ownership. Since the business was sold in September 2024, many of the employees referenced by name in those reviews are no longer with the company, which provides important context for prospective customers. DO NOT HIRE this company. I hired them to renovate my small kitchen. I was told the job would take 3 week's. The job actually took 9 weeks. They changed the design we agreed on for some reason and ordered the wrong size cabinets. Then they tried to convince us to go with their suggestion. They only worked on the kitchen twice a week for 2-4 hours. This was a horrible experience. The only thing they did quickly was demo the kitchen. I think that was intentional because, now you are at their mercy to complete the work. DO NOT HIRE.

We are happy that we chose Sunrise Kitchen for our kitchen remodel. We got new lighting, cabinets, counter tops, sink, and an island. The pricing was much better than other quotes we received for our project. The work was done quickly and well. The workmen and women were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. Shane was easy to work with, he made changes to our plan as needed, and personally addressed any issues that we came across during this project. I would happily recommend Sunrise Kitchen!
