The Deck Guys

HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION!!! The decks in our condo community were to be completed by The Deck Guys. I was asked to send my 20K check to the property manager’s office to initiate the contract. Check arrived at the property manager's office on June 5th. After 4 emails I finally heard back to confirm receipt and that we would be on the list to request a permit. No dates of when that process would be completed was provided. No communication about when they would be starting, how long it should take, nothing. We had prior experience with having a deck project completed at our other home a few years ago by another company which took under two weeks from start to finish and was much larger in scale, and involved installing it over water. These guys have to be one of the best deck companies in all of the Midwest. I can't say enough great things about the craftsmanship, price, and keen attention to detail. The crew did a fantastic job completing my re-deck project. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing a new or replacement deck.

Our experience with "The Deck Guys" was pretty awful. The initial meeting which involved figuring out what needed to be done and the quoting went well and we thought we would have a positive experience but were we wrong. Day one of the project went smooth but all they did was power wash the deck. They did upcharge us on a deck sanding which was fine with me as I ran into the same issues they mentioned when I used to power wash to paint prep the deck. The second day of the project was going smooth until we saw the finished product and we were stunned as because of how bad it looked. Uneven plunge cutting, boards that got replaced popping up, they missed a spot where they needed to replace trim, multiple spots that should've been painted were overlooked not to mention that they got paint all
