The dog guy came to our house immediately after a more "well known" company that you hear on the radio every day here in CT. Needless to say the other company immediately began attacking the "The Dog Guy" when they came to our house. It was the epitome of unprofessional and immediately turned me off and i stopped listening to her. The dog guy was great, easy going and personable, my shy 5yo daughter was comfortable approaching him and asking questions. He walked around the yard, told me what he'd do, explained the training and assured me everything would be fine. One dog liked him right away, the other who is skiddish around strangers took a while to warm up to him but she did. It was essential he did this prior to the install day and it made the transition that day that much easier

When I spoke with Mike on the phone, I immediately felt that our communication styles didn’t align—he frequently talked over me, making it difficult to have a productive conversation. During our call, I mentioned that when I tried to submit the form on his website, there was no confirmation message or email, making it seem like the form didn’t go through. This would have originally been a good review but after my conversation today with this man, I could never recommend him. I had Mike come out and install a fence about a year ago. My first inkling of "I'm not sure about this guy" was that he was charging in excess of $1,000 and then proceeded to ask me to clear all of the yard myself before he even came and then still charged me over $1,000. Oh well, I did it. Fast forward to today. My transmitter stopped working. I did what I think many normal people would do and troubleshot it myself, testing the power connections, the wire, etc. I contacted the manufacturer, a not so out of the norm thing to do, and they said they would cover a full replacement but I needed to send proof of purchase or installation. I have had The Dog Guy Pet Containment System for about sixteen years and has kept my two Jack Russell Terrriers safe all that time. I never regretted buying this system, because I have had piece of mind that it worked great for me all of the time! Mike was a joy to work with and helped us start training my dogs to get use to the fence. He was very supportive in any questions we had! Very nice guy to deal with! After adopting a rescue cattle dog living on a main road we needed a containment system for our 8 month old dogs safety. I had another big name quote offered which was substantially higher than our second quote from THE DOG GUY. We instantly connected with MIKE. He truly is a dog specialist and was able to identify the traits of our mixed breed pup. We went with MIKE because we trusted him, and everywhere up and down our road are his signs on other homes. He was able to install within a few days and train our pup that day. He walked us through the daily protocol of reinforcing the fence training. So far for the past few years we have had no issues with system. Mike is always ready yo answer all my questions when I call and quickly got my replacement battery (they last for 3 YEARS!)
