A visit to Home Depot is a pretty life draining experience in general. Half of the items one hopes to find are not in stock. Items that show in stock online are often not in stock. Stock on shelves is disorganized. I was taken back that a routine gallon of BIN Zinsser Shellac primer was priced at nearly $95. I checked the Home Depot site while in the store and the price seemed accurate. I needed the product and purchased it. Upon returning home I noticed Lowe’s sells the exact primer for $10 less. Walmart sells it for $20 less. Not great. Lastly!! This store has a salesperson that sells generac standby generators. I have no idea if he is an employee or vendor rep. He camps out by the front door and diligently asks every customer that walks in to buy a generator. I already own a generator

Two years ago my wife and I decided to use Home Depot and Rebath to make over one of our bathrooms. We met with the rebath representative he came to our house and went over everything. It was pretty pricey, so he offered a discount and we accepted. He went over the 24 month deferred interest and I knew if you didn't pay off in time you would have to pay the interest. The original cost was approximately 12,000 and I paid 300.00+ a month on auto pay in total 8,000. They (CitiBank) won't warn you that you are about to go past the due date (Paperless world) they just let you sale right by. Yesterday I decided to look at my account and to my surprise I owed 10,377 almost back to the original sale price. I normally don't write reviews because I’m not the type to complain, but this was honestly insane. I’ve never gotten so much attitude just for asking employees for help. Maybe one person was having a bad day... I get it... but all 3? My husband and I are always polite, never rude, we don't talk down to people, so the responses we were getting were nuts. We asked 2 employees to help us find a product that showed 6 in stock online. They wouldn’t even check. One just asked if we “saw it on the shelf,” and when we said no, he shrugged and said, “Then we don’t have it,” and walked away. Worst home Depot in New Jersey. God forbid you ask customer service something. I placed two separate orders both were automatically canceled but PayPal says they charged me then the other person next to him says they have no idea why. Some young kid on customer service wants the last word I was here on December 26th 2025 at 12:35 p.m.. and his only concern was getting the last word and I'm walking away and he still wants that last word so he starts telling me go call customer service I told him what is the point of calling customer service you guys took my money at least refund it and this was supposed to be a pickup order not calling customer service. All HD are not created equal. This location has a staff that's more ready to help than Paramus or Mahwah and an inventory that is better than either of them. My only gripe is the parking lot. It is sloped and that creates a a runway for those heavy carts to get up to speed when left alone and do significant damage to your car or truck. Park carefully and then go in knowing you will find what you need.
