The Home Depot

There is a big disconnect between what the store ai says and what is actually in the store. I drive 30 minutes just to find out they didn’t have what they said they did. That is NOT the worst part. While I was there a woman right after I got inside asked if I wanted to be put in a drawing for a grill or something. Well I filled out the paper and went on about my attempt to shop which was a failure on their part. Well since putting my name in the drawing I have received probably 1000 solicitors calling. I only answered once and naturally when I confronted home depot they acted like they had no idea. Well I went from maybe 2 telemarketers calling a year for the last many many years to yeah a THOUSAND in the last 2 months. I won’t be shopping here again even if they might, doubtful, have some

Had a curbside pickup order waited over 30 minutes went inside people just chit chatting away behind the counter will not be returning for future business ill go to Lowe's for now on. In case your people want to discredit the time it was today at 1042 am when I arrived and checked in for pick up and picked my order up myself from inside at 1120 am

I’m in tech and believe it can do a lot of good and I’m a proponent of useful AI and automation. But there has to be a balance between people and technology. I went to Home Depot for a specific item. Found it myself, but it was locked behind a cabinet. Scanned a code, someone came to unlock it—quick and efficient. Then I went to check out… no human interaction, just self-checkout. In the machine told me thank you for shopping at Home Depot and have a great day… I almost instinctively responded you too, then I told myself that would be dumb😂. I sort of felt like I was in the movie Wall-E🤖😂 Made me wonder: if this is the future of physical stores, what’s the point? Why not just order from Amazon or the website?

Update: we were able to schedule delivery for two days later (today). So he sat all day for updates and just like on Monday, it got to 7 pm and they rescheduled it until the following Tues. I called customer service on Atlanta and they tried to get dispatch to schedule it for tomorrow first thing (because technically it's still on the truck), but she couldn't get that done so we are done, we canceled the order and will go to Lowes and I will pick one up and install it myself. Home Depot failed miserably on this one. I recently bought a fridge and zero turn mower but I think I am totally done with any Home Depot period.
