The Tool Shack

Tool Shack used to be great, but the service and honesty have gone downhill fast. I run a lawn and landscape business, and after multiple bad experiences—months with no updates on repairs, being told a mechanic didn’t exist after my equipment sat there for four months, being lied to about a mesh fuel filter on a chainsaw I bought, and being handed two malfunctioning sod cutters in one day—I’m done giving them chances. The only time I get good customer service is when I’m spending big money, like when I dropped $1,500 on a pole saw and trimmer, but any time I need support or repairs, the attitude changes completely. I truly hope they improve, but right now I can’t justify giving them any more of my business.

We've been taking our Toro lawn mower here for regular service for years. I don't know what changed in management, but this will be our last visit. Took the Toro to them in early September. I didn't read the reviews because we thought we knew them, but our experience matches many here. No status calls. No estimate for work to be done. After a few weeks, we called back and were told that the pump had been replaced, belts changed, they were just waiting on spark plugs. I didn't think Toro spark plugs would be such a rare item to get, but accepted that answer. Tried again in a month, they were still waiting. Finally, in mid DECEMBER I told them I was coming to get my Toro and to get the bill ready for whatever had been done. That's when they told me they never actually started the work.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU CAN FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GET THE WORK DONE. Unfriggin' believable. They've had my mower for three months and did none of the work, none of it that they were supposed to. Never called me with updates, I always had to call them. The times I did call, I was told everything was done, just waiting on spark plugs. Nope, got tired of waiting on spark plugs so I scheduled to pick my mower up only to find out they have done NOTHING!!!!!! Incredible, not sure what happened to this dealership but find help elsewhere.

I had a very disappointing experience with The Tool Shack in Gulf Breeze. I dropped off my mower along with my warranty information and paid a deposit, under the impression that I’d receive a call after an evaluation to discuss the issue and authorize any service. I was told they would also confirm whether the repair would be covered under warranty. Instead, I never received a single update or phone call. Work was completed without my authorization, no warranty claim was ever initiated, and I only found out when I received a call saying my mower was “ready.” At pickup, I was forced to pay additional charges on top of my deposit in order to take my mower home. When I raised my concerns about this lack of communication and warranty follow-through, the staff showed little accountability. Spea

Wish I could leave 0 stars. This is the type of business that only cares about money. Please take your things to another repair shop that values their customers and integrity above all else. In a close knit area like ours, values truly matter.
