I love the openness and friendly nature of everyone of the employees at Thimas Somerville. They have made me always feel like my purchases are very important and details are spot on. Even have a texting port to place orders. As an Hvac contractor, I'm really impressed with the Armstrong units and the supplies that are always ready as well as free delivering that has made installs that much easier. I needed three different parts in total to install the two new bathroom faucets and one new shower faucet set I had purchased. Even though I brought in the parts I needed, since the new faucets were not an American name brand, and since I didn't have the brand of the old faucets, there wouldn't be any way for them to help me find the parts. I was told that the hose I needed was 'very rare' and that he hadn't seen the style before. For the face plate I needed, I even said I would settle for something that was similar, not exact, but I was told they couldn't help. So I left without purchasing anything- didn't even have the option to. So I went to Lowes and found what I needed. After spending hours at the big box stores trying to find the parts I needed to repair the drain on my laundry sink, and then visiting two other plumbing supply specialty stores, I was about to give up and call a plumber. But then I visited the Thomas Sommerville store in Chantilly. The staff members were very friendly and helpful, and I got the expert advise and parts I needed to complete my project. Highly recommended.

This is another old school Supply house that is stuck in it's ways. Service is either excellent or terrible depending on their mood. Customer loyalty means squat. Point of sale systems that are new but function like they did in the 80's. If this place is still around in 10 years it's due to new management. They could learn a thing or two from Ferguson.

After waiting several minutes for someone to assist me at the parts counter I found the associate to be rude and condescending. He was no help except to suggest that I would in no way find the parts I needed and to simply replace it. Replacing would have been very costly. Ultimately I called the manufacturer directly and they immediately sent a repair kit for me...at no cost!
