Tropicana Parking Lot

The Tropicana self-parking lot is a cheaper alternative to the expensive valet prices (see attached image), but that’s about the only upside. The parking lot itself has confusing signage and a layout that's difficult to follow. Upon check-out on Sunday, my party and I encountered a long line to exit with only two lanes open. The rate was $15 when I had entered on Friday, but by Sunday, it had soared to $20. I was informed at check-in that hotel guests can pay once throughout their stay and receive a pass for unlimited in-and-out access. However, I did not leave the lot during my stay, so I cannot confirm if this is true.

On a Sunday when everyone is trying to get out, we had a pretty rough experience. We paid for Valet parking, but waited about 15min to pay and then about 30min in a dingy underpass with dozens of hungover people, who all need showers (myself included). No where to sit or put your bags down. The valets are breaking a sweat, but they just need some better leadership or system or something. Our friends who parked in the deck got their car about an hour before us. $40 for the weekend, but not worth it.

This google maps label is in the wrong spot, but the actual Tropicana parking garage is extremely poorly designed. We parked in the Quarter Garage where the signage made no sense and it was hard to tell which floor on the elevators correlated with which floor in the parking garage. The ramps were arranged in i assume a scissor stair style, making us feel like we were going insane trying to find our car. The elevator to the parking garage had a giant line for Thursday morning check out so I took the stairs which took me to a back service area of the hotel where business meetings were. The correct stair case smelled terrible and was dimly lit and dirty. It also exited straight outside to an unmarked door in the street. If it is an option to give no star I would have done just that but the google or whoever runs the rating system is getting slick. I found it offensive to be hotel guests at Tropicana Casino Hotel and on the way out to be asked to pay parking fee. Wasn’t enough paying hundreds for a room to satisfy the profits of a million dollar company? Not to mention when someone is a guest in the casino the spending doesn’t end there. O though optional, most hit the casino floor, restaurants and other establishment in the building. Some may be privately owned but as we all know the big dog gets a cut. When my frustrations goes solely to the corporate and to money hungry people on the top I feel humble for those valet parking people who get paid minimum wage when the big guys charge $30-$40 night. The exit line is backed up to the 5th level. Been waiting TO EXIT for an hour. This is unheard of and Tropicana needs to do something as this seems to be a common occurrence from other reviews.
