UFO Watchtower

This place is absolutely absurd in all the right ways, if you enjoy quirky roadside attractions as I do. It's got a little history about mutilated livestock and strange sitings by campers through the years but, otherwise, it's just a great place to stretch your legs and enjoy a little fun. It's minutes from the highway, a little bit of a drive from the Great Sand Dunes. At a $5 cover and easy parking, with a menagerie of handcrafted oddities representing aliens and saucerships and other such things out of this world, why would ya pass it up?

It's so unique. And I gotta meet a gentleman that literally was telling me some cool stories about when he was in the military. And aliens, and then it was really cool. The guy that worked there was telling me about the huge horse in the building was Stripped from all of his skin and stuff.And they came and explained it.It was like not how you usually find a dead horse.And they think aliens did it, which i've had the aliens did do it, and i'm gonna go back down next summer, and we're gonna go camping me and my dog down there.And we're gonna go find some aliens

I love the uniqueness of this spot. I went when the shop wasn’t open, but I got to enjoy all of the outdoor displays. It was pretty cool.

My bestie and I decided to drive to crestone, co and we had a great time. Views were breathtaking and we ended up staying later than anticipated so we decided to car camp at the UFO Watchtower and loved it! The camp host was friendly and knowledgeable and the price to camp was decent and affordable. The porta potty was clean and stocked with tissue. We were laying in the back of the van with the hatch open and it started raining gently, we heard what we thought were footsteps getting closer and closer so we shut the door and when we woke up we had strange foot prints on the windshield. All in all we had a wonderful experience. Would absolutely camp there again but next time we will be better prepared
