Ugly Duck

We had an old door, we were looking for a replacement. Couldn’t find anything in Spokane. Pavel was the man! He took through the warehouse and found us a door, he was even able to get the door cut while I waited. Overall super happy with these guys. I hope you get a chance to work with Pavel like we did. Super nice guy couldn’t recommend more!

So,first I will say this. the 8’ tall custom French door they made was well built, looks great no issue with the quality of the door in how it was made. However, the person that pre drilled the door knob holes, Drilled it at the lowest recommended height of 34 “ from sub floor height so 33” from finish floor roughly. I’m the builder . An my clients hired me after they ordered doors a windows package. Of course some could imply that they should have told them what height they would like the handle to be avoid this issue , how ever they’re 21 years “young” if I was a custom door builder. it would have been a thing I would have mention to them while getting the door plans made . Being that it is a 8’ door an 33 “ door handle height makes it look silly. In the future, this is something I think

Shaun Pedersen at The Ugly Duck recently agreed to trim/block three metal (hollow) bedroom doors for our 72-year-old home after new carpet was installed and the doors couldn’t close (due to plushness and new pad). We love our metal doors and were quite anxious about the ‘fix’ but they were reinstalled today and they fit PERFECTLY — we are beyond pleased, and so happy with the workmanship and cost! We HIGHLY recommend The Ugly Duck and Shaun who was so very helpful!
