Village Garden Center-Landscape Services

Made our yearly traditional visit to Village garden center. I took my kids here to get ornaments each year. Now ALL my kids and grandkids are going. Wonderful fairytale Christmas setting to shop and continue a fine tradition.

Village Garden designed and landscaped, mulched, and placed rolled sod around our new garage spring 2023. The crew worked for 2 days completing the project. We are so pleased with the design and the growth of the new trees, shrubs, etc. The new landscaped front, mulch under the trees added beauty as well as saved on triming maintenance during the summer months. Jeff and the crew worked with us to create a stunning color scheme as well as providing insight into plants that thrive in particular soil and locations. I love to sit on my front porch and enjoy the new trees and flowers-- it makes my day. Also the neighbors have made comments regarding how the entire house has been transformed. Great nursery with incredibly knowledgeable staff members. We visited towards the end of the season buy that still had ample stock. Landscape architect services offered. Expansive hydrangea variety, large stock of trees and shrubs. Fantastic daylilies, ask about the Virginia Tech daylily.

This place is great for contractors but if you’re a small time ordinary customer, they will not treat you like you’re worth their time. We saw several larger truckloads of purchases being loaded up when we arrived—so maybe this business is more suited for the customers ordering bulk. We wanted to stop by and get some rocks, just a few buckets. Our intention was to make a smaller purchase today and use our experience with a smaller purchase to determine if this is the right place to give our business to to make a larger purchase of several pallets of rock. We arrived at 3:25. The place closed at 4 but tried shooing us out before the place even closed. We knew what we wanted and the guy was rushing us out to leave before closing time. The staff here have always been courteous and helpful, and always with a smile! I've been getting a lot of bulk loads of Compost and Topsoil from them with a trailer, one of the few places near me to offer that option rather than only the overpriced bags of compost that would take hundreds or thousands for a large project. They have a decent selection of plants and fertilizers and a small selection of other goods, with healthy looking plants as far as I could tell. The only complaint I have is that there has been at least a couple pieces of trash or large stones in every, and I mean every lol, load I've picked up.
