Visitors Center Parking Garage

Very convenient parking lot with a bathroom on the ground floor. It is right next to the Visitor's centre and bus driveway. So it is convenient to catch all your Charleston tour buses

Parking is reasonable. No special rate for weekend which would ha w been nice. Stayed a few minutes o er 6 hours and got charged another full hour. That's the way it goes but I don't have to like it. We'll knock off a star for that.

I see there are good and bad reviews but our stay was all good. We found this parking garage on a blog while planning our trip and were excited that it acomadated RVs. True there were lots of people hanging around but we would speak and go on. Students at Charleston Law School were always walking through. There was security patrolling. And as for the RV spots that is what they are for! They ticket anything parked in the 10 spots that isn't a RV. We have a 34' coach and fit nicely in length. Not enough room to put out slides. We stayed 2 nights and were only in the RV to sleep. There is just too much to do in Charleston and the location of the garage is excellent.

Do handicap plated cars get free parking in Charleston? If so, how is it done wit this automated system?

Do not park in the oversized/RV spots, you will receive a ticket. My truck is over the height limit for the normal spots, so I parked in the oversized area and received a ticket. Many better parking options closer to the waterfront anyway.
