Walter Scott Jr Observation Tower

It’s a bit of a climb up some stairs, but worth the views no doubt!!! We even saw a deer waltzing through. The tower does have some movement to it in the wind, just as a forewarning! :) Could be spooky for some.

I parked at the observation deck and was going to do the dirt trails, but all the trails were closed from the storm that rolled throughout the week. I did hike around Century Lake, 1.2 miles 25 mins. There is a concrete trail that goes around the park following the road, but I didn't want to do that one. Good views from the observation deck.

Situated on a bluff above the Platte River offering an expansive view of the river and surrounding valley. Especially enjoyable at dawn and dusk. A must-see if you're in Mahoney State Park.

The climb is totally worth it and easy enough my 3 year old did the climb. Wind was blowing a bit when we got to the top but to tower is fine. Such a great view.

Great view of the Platte River and surrounding areas. It is quite tall but there are benches on a few of the landings for people to sit on the way up. It is pretty sturdy and safe, but you can feel it swaying in the wind. Would recommend checking it out if you are at Mahoney.
