The parking for the needle is quite limited and reservations are required. Price as of March 2025 is $10 per vehicle, but there is also a $5 per person fee for access to the park.
This is a beautiful and cultural site. It’s a quick stop; not the main attraction for the day. We hiked to the lookout, the river, and read the historical signs in about 40 minutes. You will need to pre-purchase $5 passes per person and a $10 parking pass on the Hawaii State Parks website before entering the park.
Small parking lot at the end of lao Valley Rd for cars and buses. Toilets are available.
