1600 Vine Parking Garage

advertises 'Tesla and other' charging. once in the building the 2 Tesla and 1 Other (Tesla's need an adapter) chargers are downstairs in section E. there are no signs to help guide you there; spent a good 20 minutes driving around, looking. wasted another 20+ minutes trying to get the 3rd party charger/app to work with your Tesla using an adapter. upon closer inspection the chargers were damaged. you can 'trick' the charger into thinking it's 'fully secured' by lifting the latch. We needed to find parking for our passenger van with bike rack that would have enough height to fit us. This place has a clearance of 8’2” and the payment is all digital which was pretty cool. A nice lady spotted our confusion as we pulled in and quickly told us how the system worked. Most spaces only allow 60 minutes or less, but we found some spaces on the bottom level that didn’t have time restrictions. It was a little pricey ($17 for a few hours), but was convenient and seemed secure.

Easy to park but hard to pay if you have an international sim card and not the U.S. one. You won't be able to receive the confirmation code since the app does not allow you to change the country code and get the text message. I spoke with the support team that reacted fast and they suggested a good solution to download an app and buy an US phone number in it. Overall it is a very expensive parking 2.25$ / 20 minutes.

This is a fine parking garage. However, the owners are currently trying to transfer their parking validation system to the tech startup Metropolis--which is not at all about making parking easier (as they claim), but about selling your privacy and data to third-party companies, and then tracking your phone. This is all in the guise of the ease of using your phone as your parking validation. I'm a regular Trader Joe's customer here, love this location and the employees, and the parking system was down for about a month after their Metropolis roll-out failed. Now they're back to the old card system, which works GREAT, while they try to get the Metropolis system up and running. My guess is this whole new system will have loads of errors, leading to long lines and frustrated customers--because

The wayfinding is confusing and unclear ..luckily this is something I have experience with and had 2 other people in my car to also help. After some slow driving and realizing the chargers are "highlighted" in black with a plug icon I found the chargepoint station on P1. The QR code wasn't reading on my phone so I wish they had a back up to finding their pay site but again thanks to people in my car we were able to check in and pay while I charged my car
