Lost $40,000. Had them come out for a siding quote in August of 2024. Contracted them for an addition. Payed $10,000 to do engineering and submit permit. Supposed to start October but didnt get permit submitted till November, they asked for $40,000 down to submit permit and start building. I decided at the end of November to walk away from the project, the permit was not approved yet and the city was asking for measurements. They told me they needed to come in and measure for permitting and ordering. I told them I didn't want to do the project, the next day I was informed that the $40,000 down would not be returned because I signed a contract. I tried to work with them to maybe do other work on the house and they refused, either the addition gets built or I forfeit that money. So they kept
