Moving cross-country into a Chicago condo we did a web search and were so blessed to discover 57th Street. We met Sam, and his expertise was apparent; his enthusiasm infectious! Our first project was a massive wall unit for the living room. Alexandra - one of the ace 57th Street designers - designed a beautiful unit for our books and collectibles, with wood and glass shelves, interior lighting and bottom shelves storage. It has transformed our living room and is now one of our most treasured furniture pieces. From there, Sam and Alex designed a challenging bookshelf unit surrounding a concrete pillar, and TWO beautiful Murphy Bed units - with floor-to-ceiling side bookshelves, pull-out drawers, cabinets, built-in electric, detailed mouldings, and trim. From the first phone call, through the design process, to the (very exciting) finish line, working with 57th Street Bookcase was professional and seamless. I had specific ideas for a renovating a media cabinet, bookcases, and storage in my finished basement, and for a dresser and shelving unit in a small bedroom. Loved working with Sam and the team at 57th Street! From the start, the team was great at communicating, helped us think through the design, and delivered with an amazing end result. The install team was incredibly professional and even though we ran into a few install challenges (uneven floors/walls), the team had solutions that we were able to put in to place right there on the spot. The wait was worth it and we will be using them for all of our projects in the future!

We couldn’t be happier with our experience working with 57th Street Bookcase! They built a beautiful custom wardrobe for our master bedroom in our 1930s Cape Cod, and the transformation is incredible. What was once just a blank wall is now a stunning, functional built-in with thoughtful details and tons of storage. They were able to work seamlessly around the quirks of an old house like sloped ceilings and unfortunately-placed air vents without sacrificing design or functionality. The short and sweet: Sam and his team are exceptional! From start to finish, we experienced nothing but the greatest of care and concern for every single detail of our project, and the finished product is leagues above any other custom cabinet job I’ve seen installed at friends’ or family’s homes. Worth the wait and the value is astronomical. The details: My family had some pretty wild ideas coming into this project. We’re talkin’ home theater setup with motorized projector screen, high end audio components, and an integrated living plant wall with automated hydroponics and full spectrum LED lighting. We talked to a couple different cabinet makers, but ultimately chose 57th st because Sam and his team were truly excited about the ideas and came to the table with some incredible designs.
