9th Street Garage

Don't park here! I parked in the 9th St. garage, scanned the QR code, entered all requested information (license plate, phone#, email address), and received confirmation on the web-app that parking timing had begun. I came back out 2 hours later to find a parking ticket. I contacted the city, explained the situation, and they told me to pack sand. I see other reviewers have had similar issues with their buggy web-based parking system. The city can have my $20 for the ticket. They will now lose significant $$ per year from me by not doing anymore business (dining, etc) at the oceanfront.

In town visiting and wanted to park to eat at a local restaurant that has no parking. Signs say “$2/hour max $20”. However, the attendant stated $15 flat rate no matter how short of time we would be parking. Shame on Virginia Beach!

Paid to be in the garage, then extended the time to 24 hours through the portal. Came back with a ticket. The extension hadn't processed in their system. It sure processed on my credit card! Now I'm fined $20 on top of paying $29.20 to be in the garage. Actual unlawful behavior.

Lots of parking and seems safe but stairwells smell of pee and cigarettes. Also a sign said $20 max a day and I asked an attendant how much overnight parking was and they said $20. A friend ended up paying $28 to park from 5pm to 8:30am the next morning. I intend to look into this further and live a block away from this garage. They need more clarity in pricing.

I paid to park in the 9th street garage with my phone for 4 hours. When I came back in 3 hours I had a parking ticket on my windshield for a $20 fine
