I tried to find someone to fab up 2 steel frames for a couple of small end tables I am making. I called 3 places, and Gene (owner) is the only one who responded. He gave me a very fair price for the 2 items. He even painted them for no extra charge, and gave me a box of mounting screws to connect the wooden tops I made. It took about a week for him to do the fabbing, and when I picked them up, they were exactly what I wanted. I didn't have exact change, and so he tried to give me $20 back. I refused and gave him $5 over what he quoted because the quote was low and the work was done well. In person, Gene was friendly and accommodating. As a general contractor I have been looking for a fabricator to have a good working relationship with for various projects on jobs - anywhere from structural steel to railing and awning work. Gene will be that fabricator for me. I had him build two awnings and the entire process was easy and streamlined from the beginning. After contacting Gene, he had a quote to me within a short period of time including a timeline of when he could complete the job. He was very invested in the project making sure all the details were correct and the communication was there to make sure he hit the mark.
