TLDR: they identified a problem two other companies, one the local “expert,” failed to saving me thousands. Instead of a new unit, it was a bad wire connection. For the last two years I had been given the run around on why the dual fuel furnace could only run propane. First I was told the thermostat was not capable of running both modes of heating, so it was replaced and this portion of the ordeal cost ~$800 to get a top of the line thermostat I was assured would fix the problem. By the time this was done the weather was warming up, so heating wasn’t an issue and the air conditioning worked just fine.
