Todd Allen is a fraud. Do not use him. My husband and I learned the hard way. It took us almost 7 months after the house was done in order to close due to subs not being paid. He robbed peter to pay Paul on our draws. Subs were late being paid or not paid at all. It was very embarrassing when subs were not getting paid on time and calling us for payment. We had a lien on our house for months until things were cleared up. He most recently signed a waver to pay us on money he owed us from paying subs. He signed the waiver to pay in monthly payments starting in June. It’s November and we have not seen a dime. He will not return any of our calls or text. I normally am not a person to write a bad review, but my patience has just warned too thin and I don’t want anyone to have to go

Building a home can be a stressful experience! Sometimes you run into things you just didn’t anticipate. We are so glad we chose Allen Home Builders, even though we were hesitant after reading some negative reviews. When push comes to shove, usually the majority of reviews come from the few disgruntled people, happy people just go on about life in their new house! I highly recommend giving Todd a chance to help you build the home of your dreams. He’s very down to earth, and willing to work with you to make your vision a reality. We love our house! Take a look at some of the homes Todd has built, and see for yourself what he has to offer. He’s a great guy, and he made the entire building experience less stressful for us! Highly recommend!

We used Todd Allen of Allen Home Builders in Muskegon to build our house approximately 5 years ago. We finally gave up trying to get him to finish/fix things after hearing his false promises for two years that the final list of things would be taken care of as soon as he had time. It was almost impossible to get him to return calls! We eventually had to have someone from the building supply company he used come out to look at one of the bigger issues....and eventually had to hire a different builder to reinstall a patio slider so our Anderson window warranty would remain in effect. We did eventually file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau just to go on record in hopes that other consumers would not fall prey to this guy. In a word Terrible. We went with Todd that was our first mistake. After we inspected I asked were is our sump pump. You dont need one we saw no water. I grew up in the area and should have know better. After that winter our basement flooded. They put in drain tile or so we thought. After a heavy snow yrs later and again we flooded I had another company fix the problem which cost me 10000.00 dollars. As they were putting in good drain tile they came across the old shoddy work. They contacts us right away and show us that drain tile was only in on one side they never added it on the other side. Even though the floor was torn up do so. That is why we flooded. I hope this review helps you make an informed decision.

Somehow my last review and picture got removed. Look at the one with the unfinished house. The sign said 14 months, but it also looked that way at the 16 month mark. I will not get into detail, because Allen is a master at spin talk and blaming others. Just look at the picture. It's worth 1000 words anyway. Also. Look at the 5 star reviews. The same people have multiple reviews. Do NOT use this business.
