Amicalola Electric Membership Corporation

Last year this time, our electricity was less that $300. This year it's jumped up to over $400. Our habits haven't changed. I'd go so far as to say we've been doing better about turning off appliances and lights as our bill slowly crept up. This is robbery that the thieves know we can't do anything about. Everybody needs electricity and the companies that provide it know they can reach deeper and deeper into people's pockets until there's nothing left. It's wrong and they know it's wrong. I wish we had a better alternative, because I'd love to see them go under, at this point.

I am from Glennville, Ga. Hurricane Helene came through and Tattnall County suffered a good bit of damage. We were blessed compared to other places. My family was without power for 10 days. On 10/6 a group of awesome guys pulled in from Amicalola EMC. Upon leaving we had power. I just wanted to say, Thank You so very much for all the hard work you are doing. Most importantly please stay safe as you continue to help my community and move to the next. You are the heroes after a storm ❤️ Truck # 668 and 137 were part of the 4 truck team that helped us.

Terrible!! I’ve been waiting over a month for my power to be connected!! If I could tell them to forget it and go with another power company I’d gladly do it, which I think is the reason they could care less. Starting off on a bad foot has me dreading the rest of my experience.

Very upset about the power bills this month. I am not the only one. I understand that we had below freezing temperatures but you would think a billion dollar company could be a little generous and give people a break on their bills. Mine was almost $700 for one dang month. The month before $600. I just can't believe after years of service and always paying my bills and never complaining about outrages or anything, they'd do something to help. The woman I talked to acted like she didn't even care. It's always the rich companies that are the least generous though. Rant over!

Do you want no power for hours? How about no communication with the company while your power is out? You are in luck, this is the electric company for you!! Don’t worry, thunderstorms aren’t the only thing that will knock your electricity out! All it takes is the slightest breeze, and you won’t have power for the rest of the day! If you are all about paying for the electric company, but enjoy receiving terrible service. Don’t look any further. Welcome to inconsistency!!
