Animated Lighting

Years ago this company took my deposit check of $5000 and never shipped the product and after years of trying to get my money back, Paul ignored my calls. Initially, Paul was slow to respond to emails and eventually just stopped. Because of my persistence he finally answered and said he was in hospital and he had cancer. Months later Paul agreed to send me product that I paid for, never to receive one item. Buyer beware, it seems like it’s a gamble, some get good service and others are left high and dry. I see enough comments on here that we should unite and civilly sue this company. They are taken advantage of people during the holiday season.

After talking to Paul Smith at Animated Lighting Paid $2600 in April 2025 to beat the Christmas rush for a complete new updated system. I heard nothing from him until Sept when he contacted me that he was delivering equipment(42k) to Richmond and would drop off to me the large items (tree and arches) He delivered Sept 11th these items and was paid 2700 balance He stated that all was ready except the tree wreath. That was the last formal contact I had with Paul Smith. Numerous phone calls, messages and emails went unanswered. I then called him on his cell using a different # - Paul Smith answered. He tried to say that he was in Hospital (typical excuse) but I confronted him informing him I recognized his voice, he put the phone down - fortunately - I recorded the call. I have no idea what's

Amazing customer service. Incredible response time with any questions or concerns. Not cheapest game in town but service in my mind makes up for it.

I have been a repeat customer of Animated Lighting for over 12 years. Their products bring a lot of joy to our household around Christmas time, thanks to the creativity of Paul and his team. There is simply nothing else out there like them. I've seen some of the negative reviews, and here is my perspective: Animated Lighting is a small business with limited capacity. So, plan in advance and don't wait for the last minute and expect miracles. I start planning my Christmas show in early Spring, not in Nov/Dec when Paul and his team are swamped with other customers. And trust me, the outcome is simply wonderful if you plan ahead. Highly recommend.

I would give lower if I could, as a small business owner I am not a big fan of reviews. Bad ones are always someone trying to get away with something. Not this time. I have been dealing with Paul for over 6 years and in the beginning things were great. I ended up spending over $10,000 with him. But what was done to me is UNACCEPTABLE!! Last February got an email saying they were raising prices and I could get in on old pricing if I ordered then. Paul talked me into upgrading my controllers. Sounded great sent him 5 controllers and my mp3 players and $850 as a down payment for the work. As we got closer to Christmas last year I was promised I would have my equipment before then.
