Atlantis Painting & Contracting

Had my Victorian home scraped, sanded, primed and painted. In addition, Atlantis was also contracted to clean and supposedly protect my wooden gutters with a protective liner. After three seasons only, using high quality Sherwin-Williams Duration paint, the paint has been peeling. Furthermore, all my wooden gutters that were supposedly lined, failed miserably (rubberized/tar coating clumped up into a tarry mess throughout), resulting in fairly extensive water damage to my home. Paid almost $14,000 to Atlantis for truly appalling results. Made repeated request to Atlantis to return and repair the mess, and even compensating them in part, but they have not returned even after multiple promises. Had to hire another contractor to repair this huge mess for close to $20,000.

I signed a contract with Atlantis Painting on August 17, 2012 to stain the exterior my house in Portsmouth. It is a 1400 square foot house and could have easily been done in a week. It is now October, 28, 2012 and the job is still not done and what is done, is done so poorly that I had to get another bid from another painter. I paid for the job and they kept asking for more money. The stain was thinned and he said he would do two coats and did not. I feel like I have been "scammed" because the two owners of the company, John Horton and Anthony Nunes are not responding to voice messages, fax's, emails or my complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I highly recommend you use a different company--this one has been a nightmare.

Approximately five years ago, I hired this company due to a high rating. The project manager quoted that the house would get two coats of paint sprayed on with the windows covered. This never happened. He never covered the windows of which I had to scrape. He only did one coat. He also stated all open areas would be sealed. Again, never done. At one point, he and the crew didn't show for three days. His excuse was unacceptable. Needless to say, my house is peeling in sheets. The money I gave this company was totally wasted.

I have know Anthony for a couple of years, I know for a fact that he puts 100% into all of his work, He makes sure it is perfect before he leaves for the last time, and will stay very late at night just to get done what he planed on getting done to keep on schedule. He is going to be painting some of my rooms, I look forward to it because Ii know it will be perfect when he is done.
