I’m not one to give bad reviews but with the amount of money the project cost me and how un smooth of a process it was, im left feeling unsatisfied. I was originally told something wasn’t going to be in the way by the estimator…paid on 1/28, work was supposed to start 3/3 and end on 3/4 but when they arrived they told me I’d have to demo part of chimney. No problem. I demo the part of the chimney and the work gets pushed back to 5/28 & 5/29. I was told by two people that I had to be present for the 2nd day of work (lifting the beams with new lolly columns) so I took that Friday off (5/29). No one shows up , I call their office and can’t get ahold of anyone. I finally get in touch and was told that the foremen said they did all the work to be done. Call them and have them come out to your home and you’ll see that what was or is needed to be done will get done.

Showed up to my house without doing any investigative work to see where water could be coming from, immediately said a drain should be installed and quoted 6k, we booked and left a deposit. Weeks pass and I find that my gutters just need rerouting and we took down the wall where the drain will be and found a small crack, we got 5 inches of rain and no water came through after rerouting gutters. Call back to tell them I want to hold off on any work and might potentially use them to fill the crack instead. The refund department is a joke, I filled out cancelation paperwork and have been waiting over a week, I called to check the status of the refund and they haven’t filed it. I had my basement completed several years ago and authorized Basement systems contractor went out of business. The catch basin alarm stopped working after a year. Basement Systems told me sent me the name of another contractor who does not authorize the warranty for the alarm nor any part of the basement system. Basement system was not helpful. go to JES even though they are more expensive they will cover your warranty..

I had a significant issue with an independent installer of their product (a full crawl space encapsulation, including vapor barrier, insulation, drainage, and sump). Basement Systems reached out to that independent installer and achieved resolution within less than an hour. I had been trying for nearly 8 weeks, 4 with no response. I respect a business which stands behind its product and can exert pressure on it's affiliates to perform. If you have an issue with an installer of a Basement Systems product, it is worth your while to reach out directly to Basement Systems to determine whether they can help.
