Big Lakes Lawncare

I am 32 weeks pregnant and had the pleasure of falling this morning on our sidewalks that were ice rinks. Immediately contacted people in our association and my doctor. I live in Bay Winds Condo. Not one person has come out to treat our sidewalks or roads in 36 plus hours. . Recently they showed up on 4 wheelers zipping through our complex to distribute salt at 4 am. You can see the tire tracks in the yard. So thankful my HOA is taking this matter seriously.

I am on a condominium board in Chesterfield Township. We hired Big Lakes to take care of our lawn service this year. We have been very happy with the service provided. We decided that our community needed a major landscape over haul. We bid the work out to three companies and Big Lakes gave the best price. I cannot say enough about the excellent work that Jason, David and the crew from Big Lakes did at our complex. The project was extensive and it truly looks like a different community. I had several questions during the project and every time I called Jason he answered promptly. Hi highly recommend this company for your lawn needs. We also just recently decided to hire them for our snow removal.

Joe and team were great to work with. From start to finish, they were supportive, thoughtful and helped manage the project with multiple vendors. Highly recommend working with their team.

Don’t be misled by the older positive reviews, focus on the recent ones, you’ll see they are trending toward 2–3 stars for a reason. If you’re looking for a lawncare service that offers customized scheduling (like bi-weekly cuts) or one that actually picks up clippings instead of leaving piles of dead grass on your lawn, this isn’t the company for you. Our first scheduled cut, they allegedly went to a neighbor’s house and had a full conversation with me about how I didn’t want my lawn cut even though I planned it all week, no light bulb went off in their head. On top of that, their billing practices are a mess. Despite multiple staff members reviewing my account, they couldn’t sort out a simple issue: I was told I had four bills and four payments, yet somehow still owed money. To me, four

Update 10-16. I wanted to provide an update. Big Lakes did come back out and fix all of the issues that I had identified with them, to no extra cost to me (including adding edging which was not in my original request); so I've added another star back. I really appreciate Chester's efforts to make things right, but of course I wish they had gotten it right the first time. I will preface this review with two things, 1) originally this was going to be a 1-star review, but the company did come back out and resolve some (not all) of my issues so I am giving them 1-star back; and 2) while I think the work that the company did do was good, it was not what I wanted and there was a lot of miscommunication around my service some of which is my fault, but a majority falls on Big Lakes.
