Black Gold replaced the bike path on our street, and managed to park over half of the vehicles and trailers in such a way as to unnecessarily obstruct the residential driveways. When asked if they could use the spaces between the driveways, they responded that we should drive on the lawns and shoulders to get around their vehicles. They also drove their tracked road mill over all of the concrete driveway aproaches without any sacraficial wood 4x6 boards and plywood sheets, and consequently broke or cracked every single one of them. This was 100% unnecessary damage and complete lack of care of the operators, leaving many angry and upset neighbors along our street. Their crews aren't just bad with traffic management, they engage the drivers and are outright disrespectful. I observed this while they were doing road work in Wayland on Division right as it curves into the city center. The flagger looked raggedy and his attitude matched his looks. He intentionally held back traffic to spite the lead drivers who were frustrated at his incompetence. Absolutely disgusting behavior.

In 2012 we called and within a few days gave us an estimate and started the work shortly after. They did a good job. Last year, my husband called twice and twice the nice young woman said someone will be calling us. They never did. However, my neighbor,( who has never used Black Gold before ) called two weeks ago and received the same treatment we did in 2012. Do they not like repeat customers? New customer.....they'll like you but don't expect the same respect twice. Would have given them one star, but they did a good job the first time. Update: August 2020. Business card was left in the newspaper slot in my mailbox. So why do you leave a card when you won't call us back and Office Administrator says she passed our request to someone. Can't express how disappointed I feel right

One of their drivers tried to run me off the road doing 55 mph. I tried to pass 3 times before he quit playing games.

So these terrible reviews don't surprise me. Yesterday I looked out my window and saw a trailer dropped directly in front of our driveway blocking it. There were empty spots up and down our entire street, but the driver thought this would be a good place to leave it. The driver only needed to back up 8 feet in order to not block our driveway. It wasn't a huge deal at first, as I figured for sure he would move it quickly after he knowingly blocked a driveway. 30 minutes later I was getting ready to load the kids in the car to run some errands, and it was still there. No driver to be found, and I couldn't leave my house. This trailer was there for 1.5 hours! (I have pictures with date stamps to prove it as well as security cameras).
