Blount Concrete

I had a concrete job completed at my residence by Blount Concrete. A few months into the winter season, the top surface layer chipped / popped in numerous locations as if there was water below the surface and it froze. Less than 4 months old and it looks terrible. To the best of my knowledge, the surface was never sealed. If that was my responsibility no one ever mentioned it to me. Assuming this is a known outcome in concrete, it would nice if it was discussed as a possibility beforehand. Welcome to the new norm in quality workmanship.

On 7-14-2017 Blount Construction completed installation of our concrete driveway. I sealed the driveway a few weeks later with the concrete sealer they recommended. I noticed in January, after a few freeze thaw cycles that my driveway was spalling and flaking. The condition of my driveway worsened all winter. I called Blount Construction in February and left a message which did not elicit a return call. I waited and called again in March and spoke with the office manager. The office manager asked me to send an email as that was the best way to contact Mr. Blount. I sent the email that day with attached photos of my driveway. I received no response from this email. I waited until May and sent another email that my driveway was flaking off as I hosed it down. I received a reply from the offi

About 3 years ago I had Blount pour a floor for a 3 car garage then an enormous concrete driveway and parking pad for 5 cars. The original quote was for $28K for the driveway and pad. After looking at it further they recommended pouring walk ways to a duplex on the property. That cost another $8K. Thank God I listened to them because without the walk ways it would have been a mess. I can't recommend them strongly enough! Very professional, on time and fast. The work they did was top notch and their crew is a great bunch of very experienced individuals. Thank you Bloundt Construction. You guys are the bomb!

Me and my wife decided to go with a new driveway last year 2018. I went with 3 estimates One contractor never called me back the other 1 was too busy and Jim showed up For the estimate on time so I decided to go with Jim Blount. One of the worst decisions I ever made.. He gave Me a time frame of 6 weeks. After the 6 weeks 5 more weeks one bye and I was calling and nobody ever called me back. I talk to Chris in the office and it was impossible to get a time he told me Jim just comes in and picks his jobs so why did he tell me 6 weeks if there isn't any kind of scheduling, I couldn't understand that. Well it was after Labor Day and I called the office to cancel the job because I did not want any leafs falling in my new concrete, When I canceled jim called me back 10 minutes later and said

My driveway is all pitted, some spots chunks missing, when I called after first winter all I got was that happens. Do yourself a favor don't go with Blount cheaper isn't better. We also had new footers laiid exterior walls of our garage made the wall to high had to reconstruct the opening for our doors in order for them to fit. Looking back should have taken to small claims court. Should have listened to people who told me not to go with Blount shame on me
