Bountiful Utility Department

Every time you call Bountiful City, you get a different person and a completely different answer. There’s no consistency, no notes left from previous conversations, and the staff who answer the phone are downright rude. It’s been a full year of dealing with constant miscommunication and frustration. Absolutely terrible experience.

These guys are absolutely terrible. Power is cheaper, sure, but I know for a certainty that I called to cancel service before I made my move to a new city, but I'm still getting power bills! When I called to inquire about why I'm still getting billed, the person (who I will not name because I don't want to ruin their character) I talked to was super condescending and treated me like I was stupid and was basically implying that I was a liar. They acted irritated that they had to investigate and gave off a sense of being inconvenienced. If you use this power company, be sure to document everything! Record phone calls if you have to, that was I should have done. They do not take advantage of the 21st century and do not send confirmation emails about service cancellation. Ridiculous.

This 1 star is just in regards to their payment system. They wont allow the customer service reps to take payment over the phone anymore, and make you use an annoying and frustrating automated phone system. Then to make a payment online they push you to a third part payment system that charges you fees to make a payment even if you use an echeck. It is only $1.25 for echeck but that is ridiculous to charge a fee to pay through a checking account. They also try to "encourage" you to pay with a credit card which has a 3% fee. I would imagine most people use bill pay through their bank but on the occasion you need to make a payment with them, their system is way more frustrating then should be, or use to be in the past. This crap company doesn't even deserve one star! If you live in bountiful your sol since rocky mountain power apparently isn't a option. They have the absolute worse customer service, their reps are rude and I was on hold for longer than 15 minutes and still know one picked up! Their billing is a total joke along with their pay online.plus their hours are not at all convenient for customers only convenient for them so they can have a 3day weekend. In order be a bountiful city utilities employee it must be a prerequisite to have a crappy attitude with customers! I can't wait too move I'm so done with these jerks! They are heartless and a total ripoff!

Constant issues with the online billpay. Frequently is it down or not available and they won't answer the phone most of the time. They state they work Mon-Thu from 7am-6pm but they FREQUENTLY close early. I also work almost identical hours only I also work on Sunday so I have difficulty contacting them anyway. I even took a vacation day to work out my online issues and they never answered. Today, I called just before they closed at 8 minutes to 6pm and their phone message goes on for 3-4 minutes telling me to go online to pay and go paperless, etc. When someone DID answer, they said they had all gone for the night. It wasn't 6pm yet and they were long gone!!!! I HAVE gone paperless and HAVE been trying to use their online service but after several attempts on several days, I cannot get
