Brooklyn Bridge Fencing Club

We've joined BBFC for summer camp, private lessons and group lessons over the past year. For each the coaches could not be more welcoming, friendly and helpful. My child, a true beginner, has loved attending the different camps or lessons and made progress. The admin team is also exceptional, ensuring it's easy to schedule and navigate the booking process and they are always responsive to any questions. You can really feel a sense of community in the club - from being greeted when you walk in by the lovely team at the front desk to the positive vibes and constructive feedback from the coaches working with the fencers.

This is my kids’ third year at BBFC and it has been an absolutely exceptional experience. The coaches are truly world-class—they are strict yet deeply attentive to the holistic development and inner growth of the kids. It has programs catering to everyone from beginners to Olympic-level athletes. The way BBFC fosters the fencers’ growth is truly hard to come by elsewhere. Not only have my kids developed advanced fencing skills, but they’ve also built strong friendships with their peers. It’s a place where passion, discipline, and camaraderie thrive. Our son spent a week at the Brooklyn Bridge Fencing Camp and it was a rewarding experience from start to finish. The space is clean and professional, the equipment is excellent, and the coaching is both skilled and kind. What stood out most was the transformation in our usually shy child—by midweek, he was on the attack on the piste, and excited to tell us about his matches and the new things he'd learned. The staff balances safety, technique, and fun so well that he came home proud of himself every day and even made some new friends. We’re hoping to return during the school year. Wholeheartedly recommend this program. Fencing is truly a beautiful sport.

BBFC is as good as it gets in NYC (family-based observation after 3 years as a newbie fencing family). Whether you are looking for an activity for your kids (we were), or you are in need of a serious club with serious coaching (we now are), BBFC has made fencing a significant, positive part of our family’s future.
