Buchheit of Herculaneum

I use the contractor side of the store. There is great customer service, great selection, and knowledgeable staff. I prefer this store over any box store. They supply my materials to build homes, remodeling, and building decks to my work clothes and boots.

Just had a horrible experience going to see the chicks at the Buchheit of Herculaneum location - they do not check on/tend to their chicks like they should - my toddler and family members witnessed things we shouldn't have seen going to a store that sells live animals - these poor babies get their legs stuck with no one to save them and we saw 1-3 not moving (at least 1 was not alive any more)! One of my family members was able to save 1 little baby that was caught. I am disgusted! I wouldn't trust this store with a living animal - I hope not all Buchheit stores are this disappointing! Use caution going to see live animals at the Herculaneum location especially!

Big kudos for the employees that assisted me today at this store. I was having issues walking and they brought 4 bags of deer food and a bag of bird seed to the front of the store for me and loaded it into my vehicle. Rural King employees in Farmington could learn a valuable lesson from these great employees...Thank you so much!!!

Tonight I purchased 8 bags of Stock & Stable 12% and when we got them back to the barn and dumped the first one into our sealed feed bin, the bag was full of chewed paper and mouse droppings and a DEAD MOUSE. Needless to say it contaminated our whole feed bin of grain as we had to dump it all out due to the mouse droppings and dead mouse. We examined the bag and noticed that someone had put clear tape on the bag bottom. The other 7 bags also had clear tape on the bottom, securing the sewn bottom seam. Guess someone thought it better to clear tape a contaminated bag, than worry about contamination to our barn of horses. Not happy.

Truly a great store. A gentleman named Dalton was very helpful. We also had a short conversation about both being from Southern Illinois. Will definitely visit again.
