Castrads Cast Iron Radiators Long Island

Unprofessional and disappointing experience. I paid over $3,500 to have my 3 radiators sandblasted and powder coated by Castrads. When I received them back, they couldn’t be reconnected. The threaded valve spuds were painted over, making it impossible to get a proper seal. Castrads admitted this is part of their “standard process” if spuds aren’t removed—but any professional knows critical openings should be protected during blasting and coating. They did nothing to prevent damage and then told me to buy replacement parts instead. No accountability for their own mistakes. My radiators are now unusable unless I pay more to fix what they broke. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.

I was a little intimidated with the process of replacing an old radiator in my house. The customer service team called me on the phone and we took measurements for the new radiator. The new radiator fit perfectly and looks terrific. The only negative thing to occur was when I sent back an escutcheon plate that I did not need. The plate apparently was lost in delivery going back to Castrads. Leslie graciously credited my account for the lost plate, even though we dont know what happened to it. Overall a good product and good experience!

I've been trying to reach these folks since the pandemic, got one response and no follow up. I've emailed 3 times since. Too bad. Beautiful radiators, but apparently they don't need business in Brooklyn!
