CB's Sprinklers

I was quoted by another company $700 to replace a station valve. Chris was able to repair the valve with new parts and charged $190. I asked Leslie beforehand about a ballpark figure on a valve replacement and in fairness because there are so many valves out there and some can be repaired and some can't, it was like me asking "how much to fix my car" without a mechanic knowing what kind of car and what was wrong with it. All that to say, Chris was prompt, Leslie was prompt and extremely knowledgeable about valves. I'll be honest, I thought it was Chris answer my texts about the complexities of valves but it was Leslie! VERY IMPRESSED! It wouldn't surprise me if she used to work out in the field with him. I had time off unscheduled due to my son needing to stay home sick. I have been having an issue with one of my sprinkler zone staying on. I called in the morning trying to find someone to come out same day. CB Sprinker’s reached back out and we spoke about what was going on. Leslie reached out to her husband, Chris, and managed to fit me into their schedule. He was at my house in 15ish minutes. Very down to earth team and disclosed the information I needed when I asked. Pricing is only as fair as you see it as a customer. I will be reaching back out to Chris and Leslie in the future for any other needs and will refer them to anyone I know. Hi. So there's some good and bad here. The good. They were responsive, prompt, worked with scheduling, and called before arrival. Chris was nice. The other guy... smoked in front of me which seems unprofessional but not a deal breaker. The bad. They don't disclose the price of the service call by itself nor did they tell me the pricing of the service provided prior to the visit. When I called because of sticker shock they said "well you didn't ask", which to be fair is true, but that burden is shared and is equally, if not more so, the responsibility of the business to proactively disclose.
