Centerpark East 38th Street Parking Garage

The service at this parking garage was terrible. You’re required to leave your keys with them so they can park your car, which immediately made me uncomfortable. I took photos of my vehicle before and after just in case anything went missing or was damaged. I watched them park cars inch by inch next to each other just to squeeze more in. It felt greedy and careless, as this increases the risk of damage to people’s property. I had a strong feeling that if anything happened, they wouldn’t take responsibility. To make things worse, they charged $100 for just one day of parking. That’s outrageously expensive. They cleverly rip you off. I parked for $25 for 90 minutes, and when I got back an hour and 10 minutes later, they charged $48. Dirty thieving business.

Just got done with a weekend trip into the city and parking here was a breeze! I've parked at about 10 different garages overall and this one has been my favorite. It was really easy to reserve a spot and pay online via their website, plus you can probably find a discount when booking online. In my case I payed just over $100 for leaving my car there for 4 days (early Friday to mid day Monday). This compared to the $150+ I would've spent at other places makes it even better! The staff was friendly and efficient. Overall I spent maybe 5-10 minutes total at the garage between dropping off and picking up my car.

This review is a bit late, but I felt it was important to share my experience. On October 27, 2024, I parked my car at this location because of the positive reviews and the sense of security the reviews gave me. I only needed a few hours to visit the Bryant Park Winter Village. I was gone for a little over two hours, but something about the staff working that day made me uneasy. I even felt compelled to record my car before leaving, just in case. When I returned, I noticed a white car parked next to mine, and one of the attendants was applying touch-up paint to it. That struck me as odd. I just want to caution others: if you park here or in any similar garage, take a moment to thoroughly check your car before driving off the lot.

The reviews definitely lived up to the hype. One of the few parking garages that I actually felt safe leaving my car. Be sure to check their website for special deals. If you show up on the spot, you will be charged full price.
