I hired this company for multiple chimney services. The chimney liner installation (~$3,500) was completed properly, and the chimney crown/cap work was done well. Unfortunately, the $1,800 masonry portion (grinding and repointing) was not up to a professional standard. As shown in the attached photos, many of the mortar joints are uneven, inconsistently filled, and poorly finished, with visible smearing and patching. There are also damaged and unfinished areas that were left behind. For the cost, this workmanship is disappointing. I contacted the company and they did return to look at it. I was told this was “normal” and that someone would follow up. No one ever called back. While I appreciate that some parts of the job were done correctly, the lack of quality control on the repointing

I will be using them for life after how helpful they were. We needed cleaning and inspection done for our 2 wood stoves and we were pressed for time because it needed to be done for insurance. They got us scheduled fast, and when a necessary repair was needed in order for it to pass inspection, they were able to do it the same day. Their office staff went above and beyond, Denise and Gabriella thank you both so much and the whole team for everything!

I would 100% recommend Certified Chimney Service to anyone who needs chimney service. They came recommended to me from the company that services my oil heating system, and it’s very apparent as to why. They showed up when they said they would (it was the owner and two other techs), were very friendly, courteous and professional, the price was extremely reasonable, they completed the work very quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up after themselves. I would not recommend this company. We have 2 fireplaces on 2 levels in our home that run through the same chimney. We paid this company to install a new liner for our wood burning stove on our main floor, but when we would light a fire on the main floor, our basement would fill with smoke. It took 3 separate visits for the company to resolve the smoke issue (4 including installation of the new liner). This took place during the coldest 2 weeks of winter in Connecticut, and when we were hit with a foot of snow. This company was scheduled to come the Friday before the snowstorm and cancelled. After paying $2,500 to install a new liner, there was no urgeny or commitment by this company to ensure the smoke problem in the home was taken care of quickly and expertly. During one of the visits,
