Chapman Landscape

I have had a different experience with this company than others so wanted to write a quick review. Although there were times when the mowing was sub-standard, whenever I called, Tracy made sure to correct the issue/situation. The workers have always been friendly and professional. Besides lawn care, gutter cleaning, and fall leaf collection I had them install grass/wood steps on a slope to the waterfront which were really nicely done.

DO NOT HIRE! After 6 months on a 6-8 week project, he walked away from job and would not respond to emails, texts or phone calls. I had to hire others to replace/repair (the bulk of work they did, which had been done incorrectly) and finish the majority of the project. I lost thousands of dollars by hiring Tracy Chapman. Don't make my mistake. He recently filed Chapter 13 (public record) and left dozens of clients and vendors to take losses from nonpayment and incomplete projects.

By the completion of this project, I was just happy it was done. I’ve used landscapers for big projects at homes in NH, Key West, and GA and after each of those was completed, felt so satisfied & proud to show off my new yard. I do not feel the same about this project. While eventually they fixed the crooked deck and the screws left poking out of the railing, it was only after much complaining & feeling like I had to supervise every detail of this project. The lack of attention to detail was surprising. I had a new deck installed, created a rock seating area, had stone edging placed in my front perinneal bed, new mulch spread, and hydroseeding done to the entire yard. Started 1.5 months late. Then started and left our backyard torn up for weeks. Before they finished the job, one of the employees begged us to pay before the job was done. Two people quit. Craftsmanship was unprofessional. Ex: hammer dents in the pergola. We asked to replace. All they did was turn it around. Spilled paint on the paver stones and instead of replacing them, tried to turn them upside down. When this didn’t work, they tried to dye them red. As you can imagine this looks horrible. After excessive phonecalls and not getting calls back, we gave up. Months later, they randomly showed up and tried to replace the crumbling paver sand. It made it worse and they blast paver sand all over out new plants...leaving it for us to clean off. We gave up trying to achieve the quality craftsma

I have never once written a review like this and it saddens me to have to write it. We hired him to put a fence and level our backyard. It took 6 extra months for them to actually begin the project and everytime the crew came they never had the same people come, so no one had a clue what was going on. Then eventually someone got badly hurt on the job. I had to explain problems over and over again to different people again because there were never the same crew. So the fence was not put in the way I wanted and gates were put in wrong so that within a few months of installation one gate could not be open. The way the gates were put in they could not be opened from outside which is ridiculous. Then about 3 months the backyard began to washout. I emailed him with all pictures and he insiste
