China Garage

I am so angry with the layout and safety of this parking garage. I parked my car for 82 minutes. That was enough time to for my car to receive a long and wide scratch across my rear door, quarter panel, and bumper. It was clear that the car next to me, as I recall a Toyota Camry, had to take an awkward angle to reverse out of the spot due to a pole in the way. No note was left. The guys in the office said a valet had to move a Toyota Camry earlier. There's no way for me to prove the valet did the damage. I then checked the video footage with the guys and we found the Camry exiting the garage, but the video quality was so poor, that I couldn't get the license plate. I now have to pay for the repair because of this garage's terrible layout and poor technology. Angry beyond words.

I have parked in this garage more than once and have never been happy with myself for continuing to support this business or its parent company. However, their location has forced the need to park here on these occasions. Customer service is non-existent from most of the attendants and the garage should be condemned for its condition. My most recent (and last) visit exemplifies how terrible of a business you are supporting when you visit this garage. We drove in and discovered there were no spaces. When attempting to leave, the attendant would not let us go and suggested an available spot, which turned out to not be a legitimate spot. We were told to squeeze our SUV in between two cars and support poles; we attempted and realized it was a terrible idea and the risk of damage to the car was

If you aren't freaked out by crumbling cement, potholes, ragged edges, metal supports showing through, and a general atmosphere of disrepair, this can be a good cheap place to park. It's right in the heart of Chinatown, but be warned that Beach Street is one-way and you have to go all the way to Lincoln Street to get to the entrance of the garage. The roads get really jammed up down there, so leave some extra travel time. It is very close to the on ramps for 93 North and South, so getting out of town is easy if that's your escape route. I purchased 12 hours of parking on a Sunday in advance on Spothero for $7. It was the cheapest garage in the area.

It is convenient parking for Chinatown or maybe even South Station, and the price is okay for downtown. There are often people or cars blocking the entrance ramp, which makes it difficult to get in. Their system is very bad. Every time I go, there is usually something wrong. There is usually a line to exit. One time, the machine ate my ticket and credit card. You have to wait for the staff to come out and help.

It is an old styled garage, but the customer service is always great. I've never had any issues and the attendants try their best to help. I've been parking here for over a year and as long as you know how to read the signs (which there are a lot of) it is a very convenient place to park. It is close to South Station, the downtown area, and china town.
