10/10 - We could not be more pleased with our full bathroom renovation. Lex is the total package of integrity, craftsmanship, and communication, which made our experience outstanding from start to finish. We have a 1946 home in Rosewood, and our only bathroom had to be completely gutted due to poor tile work and lack of waterproofing in the past. Lex went above and beyond to ensure the structure was sound before completing METICULOUS tile installation throughout. He replaced a shower stall with a tub with tile surround, and framed a new custom closet to fit my vacuum cleaner. He had the added challenge of working while we lived in the house, so he maintained a clean workspace, protected all floors and surfaces, and was a joy to see every day. I have an old house in Shandon which means there will be quirky issues during any work. I was so grateful to have Lex's expertise when, during the remodel of the original bathroom, the old house challenges and opportunities came up. They were handled smoothly by well-vetted subcontractors. The overall workmanship was excellent, from the attention to the precise tilework to adding a custom cupboard that made the best use of space. We knew that Lex was a unique find as soon as we met him. He is a delight to talk with, extremely knowledgeable, and dedicated to a very high quality of work. In planning the renovation of our living space, we spoke with many experts, but Lex was the one to come up with the clever solution of how to move our laundry room so that we could renovate our kitchen in the way that we wanted to. From start to finish, Lex was a brilliant communicator, clearly explaining each step in the process and keeping us up to date. He has very high standards and is not willing to do something just to get it done or to turn a blind eye if he sees an issue. Lex and his team did an excellent job on our kitchen and den remodel. It was a complex job that uncovered a number of unexpected problems in our old Rosewood house, but Lex managed everything with careful attention and excellent judgment. We found working with him to be a pleasure--at each step it was always easy to communicate with him. Little things made a big difference, too, like the care he showed for our elderly cat, who was a little put out by all the disruption. We hope to work with him again on future projects and wholeheartedly recommend him to others.
