Cira Parking

READ THIS FOR CLARIFICATION!! There are no reviews actually explaining this parking garage. It is exactly the garage you should use if you’re wanting to leave your car overnight and taking the train (I took the Amtrak to NY and left my car overnight). It is a 24hr garage and it’s all automated, no attendants. It’s extremely easy to get into the parking garage with these directions. Follow the signs in the garage and park. Once you park, go to the elevators and there’s a QR code you can scan to register your vehicle in the garage, you just have to fill out a few things. The elevators will then take you directly to the area you need to go and the walk to the actual train station is all indoors. This parking garage is easy to get in with bridge access to train station. Getting out, especially during rush hour is pure hell! It took 30 minutes to exit from level three due to accessible traffic and the traffic light at the exit. The need other ways to exit!!

Used the Cira parking on Arch Street for an Amtrak trip to NYC. I haven't parked there for years. Important to know that there are no "tickets" to take upon entry, nor any attendants, as it is all cell phone/app based. I had not downloaded any apps before entering but it's fairly easy to do once you park inside. Just be sure to give yourself an extra 5-10-15 minutes. There are instructive signs posted in many places: Scan the QR code, enter your cell phone number, get an authentication code from Metropolis and use it to verify your phone number, enter your license plate number, the state for your license plate, and your payment information. This garage is the only parking available around the train station. The payment system was recently upgraded to require an app and license plate scanning. While they did a great job of informing customers of the change, an additional SERVICE FEE of $1.25 is now added to every vehicle. This payment upgrade only serves to streamline the Cira accounting processes and make it easier to slowly inflate prices over time. And we get to pay for it.

Great convenient parking. However I advise against reserving /paying ahead online. the QR code you get when you reserve doesn't work to get in or out of the garage and we had to take a ticket to get in and pay again to get out. There's no advantage to paying ahead. I will update this review if I end up getting my online payment refunded. Was told to call during business hours. *Edited to add, after being on hold for about 5 minutes I spoke to someone who quickly provided a refund. Increasing to 5 stars, as long as you just pull the ticket when you get there instead of booking ahead.
