My wife and I have had a terrible experience with Columbia Homes, Inc. Repeatedly, Columbia Homes, Inc. would take construction draws and not use the funds for our property. Each instance was a breach of contract. It took 3 years and 1 week to complete our project. We tried to work with them and in the end we had to pay out of pocket to complete our home. Columbia Homes asked for more time to pay us back and we have the agreement in writing along with excessively long repayment dates. They missed the repayment dates they defined however agreed to the costs. Fortunately, we filed a legal complaint in 2024 and our case is now on the desks of the Maryland Attorney General's office. I met the owner of Columbia Homes through referrals who had great experiences building homes with Columbia and spoke highly of the owners honesty, integrity and most importantly customer service and quality of construction. Some customers told me that years after the build was complete they were always happy to come and fix any minor issues, which is unheard of in this industry The best thing about them is the follow up.
