Convention Place Garage

Horribly inefficient to exit after an event. Long line to pay parking ticket, then line of cars backed up 6+ floors, took almost an hour to just get out of this garage. Would not park here again for an event.

I parked here and walked to Moda Center for an event. The walk was fairly short as the parking garage is close to MC, but I was uncomfortable with the homeless camps along the sidewalk and the smell of human waste. I made sure to walk with co-workers to and from the Moda Center. (Homelessness, crime, and debris are known issues in this area.) The parking garage itself was very standard. The entrance gates are always rolled down so I passed it the first time around because I thought it was closed. When I pulled up, the gate was triggered to roll back and I was able to enter the garage. The first two levels are dedicated to valet parking, so be prepared for a short hike back down to street level. I used the stairs in the NW corner of the garage to decend after parking, but there's a cutoff

AWFUL EXPERIENCE. THEY DO NOT FOLLOW THEYR HOURLY RATE. I thought I was staying at the Hyatt and parked in this parking. I went into the hotel, only to realice that I was staying at a different hotel. I went back to my car to go to my actual hotel. The whole deal was 20 minutes. We'll, I got charged $20 for those 20 min, even thou there is a sign that says that the hourly rate is $5 per hour. I tried to explain this to the guy at the gate but nothing. Do not trust the pricing sign. They might charge you more if they have something going on at the hotel. Even if you have nothing to do with it.

Worked as expected.
