Cornerstone Construction

No surprise this place has an accumulative review status of 3.8 stars. I just spoke with Lawrence, who I believe is actually a manager of this company, and had the worst customer service I have ever experienced from an employee. I called this morning with a concern, where he then says and I quote “where do you have the confidence calling me with this conversation”, and then hangs up on me mid sentence. Wow. I have multiple family members in the construction business, including my father, who is a certified master electrician with his own company. I have never experienced such poor customer service, the way he spoke was disgusting. This is a very poor construction company, who has no empathy or understanding for their staff or customers. I live in a home built by Cornerstone in an HOA managed by them. I could not be happier with Cornerstone's responsiveness; every time I have had an issue or question Cornerstone has gone over and above to resolve the issue. In addition, they have done a wonderful job of keeping HOA fees down when the cost of every other product/service is on the rise. I highly recommend Cornerstone

I debated writing this review for a year now. My first time was after the builder left our property leaving it without final grade. Our yard looked like we lived on mars so many pits and uneven - we had to pay to have an excavation company to come and do it. We also had to pay the outside excavator to grade the driveway which was also supposed to happen. So $1,500 later I thought okay we are done. Some drywall started to crack which I’m sure could be settling - no worries. One year later our basement completely flooded and it was finished. If you build with this builder I highly recommend you ask about the drainage plan for your egrass windows or walkout. And have a third party review it. Our down spouts empty straight into the egrass and there is no drainage in the egrass infrastructure.

Can’t speak to how well they build homes but this 1 star is due to the poor customer service. I called to request an appointment to sit down and talk to them about building a house because a friend had given me a Good reference for them. I had the entire next week off work so told the woman that answered the phone we could meet any day and anytime. She was not able to schedule me. Told me she would call me back the next Monday but that she thought Thursday would be a good day and I agreed. And never heard back from her again. I will not be using a company that can’t even follow through on a phone call. Definitely not willing to risk hundreds of thousands of dollars on that kind of customer service.

Great company for building residential new construction.
