Cumberland Ave Parking

8-21-2025. I Was parked in a handicap parking spot with a valid handicap placard properly displayed and received a parking citation. No where on the lot or at the kiosk is it posted that handicap users are not allowed to park there free. Are we just supposed to guess where and when you need to pay and where and when you’re not?

11/18/24 - This is a single floor, public parking lot close to the Knoxville County Courthouse, Truist, and many others along South Gay Street. As of today, they offer flat-rate secure parking for $12 per day, all-day, every day. Though the garages are free on weekends, and some after 5pm, I did not see any different signage or rates, but if you plan to stay in town longer than 3 hours, this is the lot to park in during business hours. This lot is privately owned by Republic Parking, which is outside of Knoxville's jurisdiction. You must pay for parking before you leave the lot, or the owner will file a police report for theft, including late fees. Or if you forget your car there, they will pay a private towing company to drag it off.

We parked here Monday 9/2/24, walked up to the kiosk, scanned the QR code, paid via the link. We've now received a "Notice of non-compliance" from a company not associated with the lot online or the payment receipt we have. *AND* looking back at the receipt the date and lot information are incorrect on the receipt. I will not park here again and I will continue to work to get the City to acknowledge/remove them from their website and/or put a *DO NOT USE* note. There is no reason for this lot to be mismanaged. *update 10/10 - I ~finally~ got the company I paid to correct the receipt and when I submitted it to the notice issuer they accepted the dispute and dropped the notice, see photo. $12 kinda expensive when there's $5 parking in a garage down the road. But at least it's easier to find my car here
