Custom Pool Designs

We had to take them to court before they would replaster our pool. Our plaster had a large crack from the top of the pool to the bottom that appeared only a few weeks after the completion of the pool. Marty and Cheryl offered a repair of the plaster. We did not accept the repair job since his own plaster guy and every other company we had look at it said the repair would be very obvious. There is no way to match the blue plaster, therefore you would definitely see the repair work on a new pool. They are very untrustworthy. They even lied in court, but we still won our case. Marty and Cheryl are super sweet UNTIL there is a problem.

Giving them a 1 because they did get us the shape we wanted but the quality is terrible. We had a big crack a month after the pool was completed before we even were able to swim in it. They came out to fix it and we were told you wouldn't be able to tell it was repaired and it would be like just like new. Yet there is still a white oval in center of pool where they broke the plaster and put new. We paid for a month $500 for someone to come out and maintain the pool as recommended to turn around and empty it so they could fix the plaster when it cracked and then the owners came out and threw some chemicals in the pool since I asked to have the pool guy come back without us paying to get the chemicals right again. Not recommended, Marty was asked to finish up with some issues on our inground pool, says he can't get in touch with his contractors, he wanted me to pay the final payment before the job was finished, when asked about the pool cleaner that was part of the deal ,he stated ,I will trade the pool cleaner for a check .only thing he is good at is calling you asking for a draw. Has been 5 months and Marty has not came back to finish the issues with the pool. Update, it has been one year and still no Marty. July 2023 will be 2 years since Marty said he would he would be back to finish the repairs.Still waiting. Hey Marty now my pool is leaking.,you said you would come back to fix this,been 2 years come July

I would not recommend. I was told it would take 3 month and it took almost 5. The owner did not fulfill his own contract. I payed for Exposed Aggregate Concrete and received brushed finish which is a downgrade and never compensated for it. I was charged extra because they poured additional concrete that I did not approve. They attempted to charge me extra for dirt that I had brought in I had to remind the owner that I payed for that not him. Per the contract I was to receive a pool cleaner and never did. When I reached out to ask about it I was told I still owed them $1600? When I payed them the final check they did not mention it so why now? There are many pool contractors in the area I suggest using them before using Custom Pool Designs. Very untrustworthy!

Marty and Cheryl talk a good deal/product but will absolutely not follow through after the sell or completion of their work. We had an inground pool installed by them and within a year we had issues with concrete cracking, irrigation issues, and flagstone movement on fountain and surrounding pool issues. After contacting them about the issue they showed up 6 months later to look and acknowledged there issue and said someone would come by to repair the issues. After a year with no call and no repairs I called and Marty reported he was “real busy” and told me how I could fix his faulty design issues. He claim the irrigation issue was from a sprinkler system we installed that has not been working in over a year was the issue and it only happens after it’s rains. After looking at the reviews a
