Instead of letting customers take a paper ticket on the busiest days and pay on their way home, you have to use a credit card to enter the parking garage. The credit card method confuses most people or catches them off guard and it takes them time to dig for their credit card. The credit card scanner does not work with a quick swipe so people have to repeat and repeat. All of this slows the entire process to a crawl to the point that cars are waiting for a whole block. This complete system is flawed, and it is evident that they have and need at least two attendents standing at the entrance ticket machines helping the customers. I was downtown for a family wedding. Parked in a spot that said zip zone 2 hour parking during a certain time frame. So what does that refer to after those hours? Can we park there forever till the timeframe rolls back around? No you can’t because I was given a ticket. No meter to pay. Just a zip don’t that said a timeframe you could do your 2 hours. After that timeframe can you not park there? Maybe put a no parking sight after this timeframe so people don’t get charged 52.40 for “unlawful parking”. How does that make sense? There was plenty of room and the car in front of me had no ticket.
